Dance Studios in Wellington

Dancing in Wellington has the traditional New Zealand problem of not enough suitable dance spaces available in the city and certainly not enough reasonably priced venues. Fortunately most dance styles require nothing much more than a reasonably flat wooden floor and and some space.   Running a dance studio is often more a labour of love than a commercial operation so few, if any dance teachers in Wellington own their own premises.  The advantage of this though for those wanted to learn to dance is that its often possible to find a dance class in your local suburb meaning that you don’t have to drive across town to find a class.

What I wish to develop here is a list of dance studios subdivided into geographical areas and dance styles. Many studios run out of mutliple areas and teach multiple styles so htere will be some duplication.

Dance Studio is a  business which offers formal dance classes by trained and qualified teachers. Generally you will $10-$20 per a class depending onthe studio.  Some dance studios will allow you to pay a casual rate but often you will have to sign up for a term or block of six to eight weeks of classes.

If you are looking for a cheaper options consider dance clubs which offer more informal, and often cheaper dance lessons.
